Tu Lider Increases Impact by Switching to Static
Tu Lider's mission is to empower youth in El Salvador with resources for developing emotional intelligence, building leadership, and healing from trauma. Operating on a shoestring budget, web hosting can be a heavy burden for small non-profit organizations like Tu Lider. By migrating their site away from Squarespace to a static site they can host for free, we helped Tu Lider advance their mission.

Their needs were clear: Tu Lider needed a place online to say who they are, what they do, and to collect donations. This is a perfect usecase for a static site. By crafting a custom solution for them, we were able to cut away the cruft that comes with sitebuilders like Squarespace to improve their Lighthouse Performance score by 15 points! With more direct control over the site's markup, we addressed numerous accessibility issues as well, improving the Lighthouse Accessibility score by 17 points. Both of these improvements have a positive impact on their SEO, but more importantly, improve the user experience for their site visitors.
By dropping their Squarespace subscription and using fast, free hosting by Netlify, Tu Lider saves over $350 a year. For a small non-profit, this is a sizable chunk of their budget. With these savings, they can provide an additional 35 therapy sessions a year to the children they serve. This cost saving measure helps ensure a greater portion of donations directly supports their mission.
